How to delete or turn off comments on your Steam profile

Your profile, your comment section. You can delete any comment on your own profile, delete the comments you left on other profiles, and decide who can comment at all. Here's how.

Delete a comment on your profile

1. Open Steam and click your name at the top, then Profile.
2. Scroll down to the comments. For older ones, click View all comments below the comment section.
3. Hover over the comment (on your phone, tap it) and click the delete option in its top-right corner.
4. Confirm, and the comment is gone for everyone.

This works for every comment on your own profile, whoever wrote it, including comments hidden behind an "awaiting analysis" notice.

Delete a comment you left on someone else's profile

Open their profile, find your comment, and delete it the same way. You can only delete your own comments on other people's profiles, not anyone else's.

Choose who can comment

1. On your profile, click Edit Profile, then Privacy Settings.
2. Set Comments to one of these:
   • Public: anyone with a Steam account can comment.
   • Friends Only: only people on your friends list can comment.
   • Private: nobody can comment, and the comment section is hidden.

Steam saves the change straight away. You can switch back at any time, and the comments that were there come back with the comment section.

Stop one person from commenting

Open their profile, click the … (More) button and choose Block all communication. They can no longer comment on your profile or message you, and everyone else still can.

Can you delete all comments at once?

No: Steam only lets you delete comments one by one. If you want a clean slate quickly, set Comments to Private to hide them all, and delete the ones you don't want when you have time.

Before you turn comments off
