Steam VAC Ban Checker

Check any Steam profile for VAC bans, game bans, trade bans and community bans, and how long ago the last one was.

For example steamcommunity.com/id/gabelogannewell, gabelogannewell or 76561197960287930.

What the Steam bans mean

  • VAC ban: Valve Anti-Cheat caught cheats on the account in a VAC-secured game. It can't be appealed, and the account can no longer play that game on VAC-secured servers.
  • Game ban: the developer of a game banned the account, for cheating or another rule break, through their own system.
  • Trade ban: the account can't trade or use the Community Market. On probation means a ban was lifted recently and comes back with the next offence.
  • Community ban: the account can't comment, post in discussions or use other community features.

Bans show on the profile itself, so anyone can see them. Days since the last ban counts from the most recent VAC or game ban.

Why check for bans?

Before you trade with someone, buy an account or add a new teammate, a quick look at their bans tells you whether the account has a history. A clean record doesn't guarantee anything, but a recent ban is worth knowing about.
